It’s true, from the manually operated designs of the 1850s through to the automated, do-it-all machines of today, people have long enjoyed the convenience and time-saving benefits they offer. Lucky for us, today’s machines are far more effective and reliable than their hand-cranked ancestors; they just don’t make them like they used to anymore and that’s a very, very good thing.
Nevertheless, even with today’s technology things do go wrong from time to time. Most machines need an occasional service. If your dishwasher looks like it’s on the blink it might be time to give us a call. Here at Moston Lane Appliances we offer a friendly, local service with a quick response time. We stock a huge range of parts so can usually have you up and running again without any hassle. Having been supplying and fixing white goods for many years, we’ve dealt with the vast majority of faults before. We can usually get a pretty good idea of what needs doing from a quick phone call.
Most commonly, we find people tend to experience one of the problems below with their washing machines. If any of these sound familiar don’t panic, just pick up the phone. If you still have no idea what could be going on that’s no problem either, our friendly engineers will be able to figure out a solution.
One of the most easy to spot faults is if the machine doesn’t properly clean the dishes. Maybe you’ve noticed a few more specs of food on your cutlery, or at worst the machine might be barely touching the muck. There are a few different things that could cause this and surprisingly it’s not always the machine which is at fault. In some cases, problems with the plumbing can stop enough water from getting to the machine. This is why it’s important to work with an experienced company, you don’t want anyone to start demolishing the machine if the plumbing’s at fault. Nevertheless, the plumbing isn’t the only culprit behind unclean plates. It could be an issue with the spray arm or a failed motor. Never fear, we stock plenty of the parts required to fix this.
Leakages are a real pain. It’s rare that a machine will go completely haywire and soak the entire kitchen, but a small leak has the potential to eventually leave behind some really nasty damage to your units if it’s not spotted early. Often this sort of thing is simply due to a failed gasket, the small pieces of rubber intended to create a watertight seal around the door of the machine. If the machine remains full of water when it really shouldn’t be that could be a gasket issue too. We’ve got a ton of gaskets on hand so can usually have you back up and running, leak-free, in no time.
If the dishwasher appears to have died completely many people mistakenly assume they need to replace the entire machine. In fact, with most modern appliances simple electrical issues can be the culprit and they’re usually pretty straightforward to solve. It might be a little tricky to diagnose exactly what has gone wrong over the phone, but with our range of spare parts we’ll generally be able to figure it out pretty quickly.
Worst case scenario is the machine might need to be replaced. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be as expensive as it sounds. We stock a great selection of machines at all different price points and would be happy to offer some suggestions on what would work best for you. You can see some of our range in our online shop.
